If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing base for your holiday in South West Scotland, Balkissock Lodge B&B, set in an acre of gardens and woodlands, will provide you with a comfortable break with a touch of luxury at a very reasonable price! Views from around the property over the sea towards Ailsa Craig, Mull of Kintyre, Arran and Northern Ireland provide a spectacular backdrop to the variety of fauna and flora found in and around the garden.

A warm welcome awaits you with home-baked biscuits or cakes to accompany refreshments after your journey. Our two guest rooms are both located on the ground floor and both have en-suite shower rooms, TVs with Freesat and well-stocked hostess trays. During your visit you will also have access to the guests' lounge with comfy leather sofas, a wide variety of reading material and free wifi.

Breakfast is a leisurely affair. Enjoy a range of cereals, yoghurts and fruit juice whilst your breakfast is being cooked to order. Choose from a "full-Scottish" consisting of local produce or a lighter dish of scrambled egg with smoked salmon or blueberry pancakes with Greek yoghurt and honey for example. Finish that with home-made preserves and home-baked bread. Vegetarian and specific dietary requirements can be catered for if identified at time of booking.

Situated close to the Galloway Dark Sky Park, Balkissock Lodge enjoys fabulous dark skies for star gazing and its temperate climate, provided by the Gulf Stream, means a variety of plants thrive in the gardens.

Balkissock Lodge is an ideal base for exploring all that South West Scotland has to offer such as cycling in the Galloway Forest, fishing on the river Stinchar, golfing at Trump Turnberry Golf Club or walking the Ayrshire Coastal Path. Visit one of a number of tourist attractions including Culzean Castle, Robert Burns Centre, Rhinns of Galloway Lighthouse (Scotlandís most southerly point) or Logan Botanic Gardens. A 30 min drive will take you to the P&O and Stena Line ferry ports at Cairnryan. Day trips to Belfast and the Antrim Coast are popular with guests.

I look forward to welcoming you to Balkissock Lodge and hope to make your visit enjoyable, comfortable and the first of many.
